Barnaby L. Smith is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice emphases on the deliberate deduction of informational overload through a refined, minimalistic approach. His work fixates on the implication of clarity in matter, while upholding an adamant attitude towards achieving two subject matters. The first, a figurative based workload and the second, industrial structures and urban landscapes, both having minimalistic properties, yet holding complex values. Barnaby L. Smith explores the themes that the transformative process holds through filtered memory, Capturing the purity and strength of the female figure. While on the other side of the spectrum capturing the importance of industrial architecture and urban landscapes. Most recent works primarily catch the self-confidence of women with correspondingly precise and confident mark-making. With the use of medium, each dot and line underlining the delicateness of their femininity, again the mediums used to capture strong, powerful structures and landscapes are relatable to subject matter Photographing aesthetically pleasing images for Photography commissions and pleasure yet, Barnaby L.. Smith has a skill set to take whole pictures and singular objects, primarily photographs to manipulate to a high standards on Photoshop . Barnaby L. Smith has also recently started to use strong, powerful, vivid hue with an abstract practise using the medium, spray paint, within his most recent university art works. He currently studies Drawing and Print at University. His social media presence is currently building up slowly, while having five shared exhibitions in the past four years, the latest being ‘Analysis of X’ in Bristol, Avon. He currently lives and works in Bristol, England however is from Buckinghamshire, and London.
